The 4th grade classes participated in the 2017 Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl poster contest sponsored by Town and Country Garden Club of Leslie, Georgia, under the direction of Phyllis Tucker. Smokey Bear educates children to prevent wildfires and Woodsy Owl educates children to take care of our land.  The winners from Southland at the Regional level were as follows:

1st place Peyton Horn

2nd place Cadence Dockery

3rd place Reese Graft

The above winners’ posters were sent off to be judged at the District level by the National Garden Club. Cadence Dockery won 1st place at the District Level and will be representing Southland at the State level.
