On October 13 the 5K classes visited the Jimmy Carter Boyhood Farm (JCBF) in Plains, GA. The students were given a tour around the farm and were able to see what President Carter’s life was like as a child growing up in Plains.
While there the kids built a scarecrow, visited President Carter’s boyhood home, made jack-o-lantern faces, listened to a story about farm life, and sorted beans by size and color. They also played games that would have been played when President Carter was a young child their age during the Depression.
After leaving the farm, the kids went to the Plains Welcome Center and enjoyed lunch.
