Southland Academy third, fourth, and fifth grade students had the distinct pleasure of meeting Benjamin Franklin. More so than perhaps anyone else in history, Ben Franklin was extraordinarily successful in many areas of endeavor. However, it was as a man of science that Franklin first came to the attention of the world. His scientific achievements would have tremendous impact on future science and scientists, as well as the history of this country! The students were able to interact with Benjamin Franklin impersonated by Dr. Rich Davis and learn about his greatest scientific achievements, as well as his life and other accomplishments. Many students were able to participate in the show and help Mr. Franklin with the program.

The program included major facts about Ben Franklin’s life, electrical experiments and many other important scientific contributions, and contributions to community and country. Student engagement and the academic information presented with Rich Davis’ wit and humor allowed the students to feel like they truly met Benjamin Franklin.
