Kicking off 2017 at the Accelerated Reading assembly, Southland Academy recognized reading achievements for the fall semester for students in first through fifth grades. Each grade's top readers were recognized for the first and second nine weeks reading periods. In addition, students who have read one million words or more were recognized.  Southland Academy is very proud of the lower school students for setting and achieving their reading goals. Through the Accelerated Reader curriculum, students show responsibility, self-discipline, and time management to reach these goals. These traits will continually help our students not only in academics but also in all of life's pursuits. The AR committee provided a huge blow-up slide for students to celebrate their reading
successes.
