Experience

After teaching for one quarter at Lee Co. High School in the spring of 1977, I joined the Southland Academy family in the fall of 1977.  I taught "typing" to tenth graders for several years before the urgency of technology surfaced.  I have also taught accounting, office procedures,  business law, and personal finance.    Currently, I teach accounting/business law (an elective), personal finance,  computer keyboarding to 7th graders, and study skills to 6th graders.  I was also responsible for advising many excellent yearbook staffs in the compilation of the RAIDER yearbook for 35 years.  For several years, I was also responsible for the RAIDER REPORT newsletter until it was discontinued; but, thankfully, that publication has been resurrected.  (Mrs. Melanie Mathis now oversees the compilation and distribution of that publication.)

Bio

I attended ABAC after high school and received an Associate Degree in 1970 and subsequently enrolled in Georgia Southwestern State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Comprehensive Business Education in 1972.  In 1978, I completed the requirements for my Master's Degree at Georgia Southwestern State University and I have maintained a current certificate by taking the required courses.

I am originally from Cordele, Georgia.  I still attend church there at my "home" church--Hatley Baptist--and am the pianist for the church.  In December I will have been happily married to Bill Wills for 49 years.  My favorite pastime is attending gospel concerts.
