I graduated from Marietta High School in 1992.  I went to The State University of West Georgia where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.

I taught 3rd grade at Green Acres Elementary in Marietta for 2 years.  

I taught 3rd grade at Sumter County Elementary for 2 years.

I taught 1st grade at Southland Academy for 1 year.                              
I taught 3rd grade at Southland Academy for 5 years.

This will be my 6th year teaching 4th and 5th grade reading here at Southland.

       Hi, My name is Shay and I am originally from Marietta, Ga.  I have lived in Americus for 21 years.  I am married to George and we have 2 children.   Gray (19) will be a Freshman at GSW and Georgia (17) will be a Senior here at Southland.  This will be my 12th year teaching at Southland but my 16th year teaching.  I taught 3rd grade for 4 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom for 7 years.  My first year at Southland I taught 1st grade but then moved back to 3rd grade for 5 years.  I decided to move up to 4th and 5th and I love being the Reading teacher.
