In the true Christmas spirit, Southland Academy First Graders traditionally decorate elaborate Gingerbread Houses for the holidays.  After the fun with classmates and parents and lots of icing and candy, the first graders donate their creations to our local assisted living facilities for the residents to enjoy.  Southland appreciates Mrs. Linda Richardson, who has constructed the forms for these houses for many years, and Mrs. Reba Hunter for sharing their time and talents so graciously.  Likewise, the first graders enjoyed having parents at school for the fun activity.
