Even the summer heat could not curb the enthusiasm of the Southland Academy students attending the Raider Tennis Camp.  Students in grades 2-6 learned the basics of the game of tennis:  racquet grip, groundstrokes including forehand and backhand, serving, scorekeeping, and tennis etiquette.  Campers also learned basic strategy in singles and doubles matches and competed in games in both areas.  Southland Coach Josh Hicks said, "The campers enjoyed the camp, having fun while gaining some tennis experience.  The future of Southland tennis certainly looks bright!"
