Headmaster Ty Kinslow is pleased to announce that Miss Anjum Alam is the STAR student for the 2017-2018 school year.  The STAR student award is a top academic achievement given annually to a senior class member who has the highest SAT score in one sitting and is in the top ten or top ten percent of the school’s graduating class.  The PAGE Foundation Program of Excellence coordinates the program. 

Each STAR student has the privilege of naming a STAR teacher.  This year Anjum has selected Mrs. Patty Webb as her STAR teacher.  Mrs. Webb teaches AP Calculus, Honors Pre-Calculus, DE College Algebra, and DE Statistics. Mrs. Webb has been a teacher at Southland Academy for 29 years.

Anjum is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Syed M. Alam.
