The 4th grade classes participated in the 2017 Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl poster contest sponsored by Town and Country Garden Club of Leslie, Georgia under the direction of Phyllis Tucker. Smokey Bear educates children to prevent wildfires and Woodsy Owl educates children to take care of our land. The winners from Southland were 1st place, Peyton Horn; 2nd place, Cadence Dockery; and 3rd place, Reese Graft.
The winners from Southland will also be judged by the National Garden Club.
