Southland Academy participates in the Council of Safety Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Americus, Georgia.  With the purpose of promoting leadership and patriotism in the community, the group offers a chance for students to earn a scholarship after writing a short essay.  The essay topic was “What Can You Do To Serve Your Country Best in the 21^st Century?”  The winner of the NSDAR scholarship this year is Mary Martin Shealy.  Mary Martin will receive a $1,000 scholarship to the college she will be attending in the fall of 2017.
