Southland Academy hosted its very first Lower School Speech Contest for grades third graders on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Each third grader met the requirements for the speech assignment, presented their speeches to their classmates, and completed the semi-final round of the competition. 

Brianna Brown, daughter of  Lisa Slaton and Jerry Brown, won 1^st place with “Witches.” Cade Futch, son of Jonathan and Ashley Futch earned 2^nd place with “Excuses.” Laura Cate Harris, daughter of Lee Harris received 3^rd place with “Travel, Travel, Travel.” Students receiving Honorable Mention are Bryant Roland, Sydnee Kobs, Luke McKie, and Amelia Kinnebrew. 

Southland Academy is very proud of these young Raiders. Having students participate in the speech contest is just one of the ways that Southland Academy can help its students achieve their best and help them expand their horizons.
