We live in a world surrounded by technology.  And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how technology works.  But, only 1 in every four schools teach computer science.1

Launched in 2013, Code.org® is a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to computer science. Their vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science. Their belief is computer science should be part of core curriculum, alongside other courses such as biology, chemistry or algebra.1

4th Graders at Southland Academy are using Code Studio to learn basic coding and computer science. This format helps nurture creativity, problem solving, and logic through the use of interactive self-paced tutorials and game-like puzzles.  Students love the instant feedback seeing the results of the code they write!
