Bio

Hello Raider Nation!  It is great to return to Southland Academy for the 2020 - 2021 school year.  I know that these times are uncertain and that we all are having to get used to a "new normal".  I pray that you and your family get through these times as well as possible and are also excited to get this school year started.  I share the Southland Academy motto "Commitment to Excellence" and want to assure you that we will do everything possible to provide a safe, engaging and "normal as possible" learning opportunity this school year.  We will continue to have high expectations for our students in their academic and extra curricular performances.  I look for great things from the Southland Academy family and look forward to the many accomplishments this year and into the future!

I have 36 years of educational experience ranging from classroom Teacher to Coach to Athletic Director to Assistant Principal to Principal.  I have been married to Traci Lawhorn Tondee for 35 years and she is a SAR graduate of 1982.  My family includes son Josh and daughter in law Katie (Hendrickson) who have a son, Tyner and a daughter, Caroline.  I also have another son, Tyler, who is engaged to his fiance, Adrienne Polk, with an August wedding planned. Josh and Tyler attended Southland Academy before graduating from Schley County High School.

GO RAIDERS!
