SADD Club (Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)) 8/15/2013

Enrique Camarena worked his way through college, served in the Marines and became a police officer.  He joined the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.  Camarena was killed in 1985.  In honor of Camarena's memory and his battle against illegal drugs, friends and neighbors began to wear red badges.  Parents, sick of the destruction of alcohol and other drugs, began forming coalitions.  This is how SADD Club emerged. SADD stands for Students against Destructive Decisions. Southland Academy will observe Red Ribbon Week on October 21-25, 2013.
